How many hours will I work?

Most apprentices work at least 30 hours perweek, including time spent in off-the-job training. Some roles may offer flexible arrangements depending on the employer.

Programmes typically last between 12 months and 4 years, depending on the level and sector.

Will I receive a qualification?

Yes. At the end of your programme, you’ll gain a nationally recognised qualification relevant to your industry.

What support will I receive?

You’ll have:

  • A dedicated tutor or assessor
  • Regular progress reviews
  • Structured training sessions
  • Workplace mentoring
  • Additional support if required

What happens after I finish?

Many apprentices move into permanent roles with their employer. Others progress to higher-level apprenticeships or further study.

Can I change apprenticeships if I realise it’s not right for me?

It’s important to choose carefully, but if circumstances change, speak to your tutor or apprenticeship advisor as early as possible.
